Proud Mama Moment

My baby knows sign language!! I know that Ms. T has been "teaching" her how to sign for a while now but it never really hit me that she is retaining the information until two nights ago. I was feeding Abby dinner and she kept screeching when she wanted more. Not a very lady like habit! Each time she screeched I would say "Abby, if you are still hungry just say more, mommy." After a while I noticed that every time I said the word 'more' she was doing something with her hands. So I said "MORE" and she did the sign again for more. It was such an a-ha moment. I was so proud of her!!! She is LEARNING. My Abby made me a very proud mama at that moment!

And because no post is complete without a picture:

Abby and her NC bff at his birthday party

Hmmm I want to help open presents....

Abby helping Mrs. K and baby boy K open his birthday presents. These days she wants to be in the spot light 50% of the time and buried in my chest hiding the other 50% of the time!

  1. How cute!! I think it's so awesome how easy it is for babies to retain so much information! They really are sponges!

    1. Apparently many kids learn sign language before they can speak verbally. It's a great tool.

  3. YAY go Abby. Sign language is awesome at this age, helps to keep the communication going and educe frustration. Go Mrs T for teaching Abby. Keeping her around was truly a great decision

  5. That's so cool that she knows sign language this early. At least, the money being paid to Ms. T is going to good use.
